Skip completed his first book in October 2018. In the book, he tells the story of a church and a community so intertwined it is hard to tell where one ends and the other begins. The result is a vibrant, thriving church and a tight-knit community that truly cares for its members.
The book is available from Amazon in paperback and Kindle formats. Proceeds from the book benefit The Foundation for Christian Education, a 501c3 corporation with a mission to develop, promote and implement Christian Education at NC Wesleyan College and other educational outlets. The ReNew18 Pastors Conference was the first major endeavor for the foundation. Skip Carney has traveled near and far speaking on Leadership, Innovation and Marketing. With the release of The Greatest Church in the World , he has now added that topic to his repertoire. For more information, email info@carneyco.com.
About the author
“I always thought my first book would be about marketing or innovation or marketing communications. After all, that has been my focus ever since college. In the two years since I started this project, I’ve been on a journey that led me to a better understanding of the state of the church and the challenges that it faces today. It led me to create this story of hope … for the churched as well as the unchurched.”
– Skip Carney
The Greatest Church in the World describes the church that I have sought for more than 45 years, but have only tasted for seasons that are always too short. Read the book. You will be encouraged.

The Greatest Church in the World gives me hope. Hope that more churches will focus on what matters most.
Dr. Dewey Clark, president of NC Wesleyan College
The church in America must be transformed. We will use this book as a guide to teach and train pastors, church leaders and church members. The Greatest Church in the World is the new handbook for the modern church. Martin Newby, LoveServes.org
